THE TEAM

Master Landscaper Darrell K. Smith heads up the Landsmiths team in his role as landscape manager and design consultant.

With Landsmiths, anything is possible - from tiling, decking, swimming pools, and retaining walls, to driveways, edgings, lawns and designer gardens. We also undertake maintenance programs on many of our projects and offer you a complete garden care service. We operate in conjunction with our landscape architects and designers on comprehensive structural plans and retain the ability to work alongside you to create conceptual drawings. We have a network of experienced and professional contractors to call on for specialist tasks within each project.

DARRELL K. SMITH - Master Landscaper

Darrell is recognized in the marketplace as a Master Landscaper and rightly so. His work is featured in a well known weekly television garden show. His landscape designs have won many awards and are featured in the best gardens and backyards in Auckland. Darrell has a passion mixing together elements of planting, timber, concrete and water to create stunning outdoor spaces that work for many years. He has had extensive experience throughout Auckland, Europe and England, in bricklaying, managing tiling contracts in granite and marble, and working with terrazzo concretes finishes.  This enables him to apply  his skill, depth of knowledge and eye for quality control within the landscape industry. Darrell’s long-term interest in horticulture motivated him to merge the complementary professions 18 years ago to form what is now Landsmiths. Today, the company is a growing market-leader based on a commitment to superior standards of workmanship and service. Darrell’s wife Nicky joins in his vision for the future along with a team of experienced professional staff and contractors – all dedicated to producing results that set Landsmiths a step above the rest.
