Our Master Landscaper, Darrell is recognised in the marketplace for his expertise and superior results. His work is regularly featured on television in well-known weekly garden and backyard shows. His landscape designs have won much praise and are featured in the best and most prestigious gardens and backyards in Auckland.
Darrell has a passion mixing together elements of planting, timber, concrete and water to create stunning outdoor spaces that work for many years and enhance properties and add value.
He has had extensive experience throughout Auckland, Europe and England, in timber, concrete, steel, water, lighting and Mother Nature. This enables him to apply his skill, depth of knowledge and eye for quality control within the landscape industry.
Darrell’s long-term interest in horticulture motivated him to merge the complementary professions 37 years ago to form what is now Landsmiths. Today, the company is a growing market-leader based on a commitment to superior standards of workmanship and service. Darrell’s team of experienced professional staff and contractors are all dedicated to producing results that set Landsmiths a step above the rest.

Master Landscaper, Darrell K. Smith heads up the Landsmiths team in his role as landscape manager and design consultant. Landsmiths design, construct and maintain landscapes and have the expertise, people and equipment to undertake all types of landscaping from single gardens to large residential and commercial sites.
We undertake every aspect of landscaping from dazzling designs, to construction, project management, maintenance programs and even a complete garden care service. Anything is possible - from tiling, decking, garages, swimming pools, ponds, retaining walls, driveways, edgings, lawns and designer gardens, to planting areas and terraces.
We operate in conjunction with our landscape architects and designers on comprehensive structural plans and retain the ability to work alongside you to create conceptual drawings.
We have a network of experienced and professional contractors to call on for specialist tasks within each project.
